Reserve Your Spot NowAre you feeling lost and unsure of your role with changes in content area curriculum and program expectations?
Are you spending hours planning for different grades and proficiency levels and still trying to find time to plan with content teachers?
Are you unsure if your current instructional program is really meeting student needs?
Â
It's not your fault and you are definitely not alone!
Â
Many teachers struggle to make complex content accessible for English learners, especially beginners. Adapting to new program models requires more than flexibility—it demands confidence and expertise to deliver high-quality English language development, address language demands, and support colleagues across diverse learning environments.
That’s why we created the Functional Language Planning Expert Intensive Program.
Kelly and her team at English Learner Portal have been a Godsend! Over the past couple of years, our district has enrolled many teachers in Pathway courses and Praxis Coaching workshops--all of which have resulted in many gen ed teachers and administrators obtaining ESOL certification. English Learner Portal is bookmarked on my computer as a favorite.

Hey there! I’m Kelly Reider, the founder of English Learner Portal. With 30 years in public education (I know, it sounds like a long time, but it flew by and never a dull moment!), I’ve worn quite a few hats—consultant, district ESL program coordinator, school admin, instructional specialist, ESL, and classroom teacher. So, I've pretty much seen what you are experiencing.
I’ve also had the chance to lead workshops around the globe and was once a WIDA Certified Facilitator (yep, I love this stuff, a total language nerd). I hold a TESOL ELT Leadership Management Certificate and I’m also a National Board Certified Early Childhood Generalist. My heart and soul? Helping others scaffold instruction, develop language and literacy skills, and design curriculum that actually works - watching sstudents and teachers shine. I geek out over system-level program planning and evaluation, too (but don’t worry, I make it reasonable and fun!).
I have a Master’s in Instructional Systems Development, and I’m certified in Elementary Ed, Spanish, ESOL, and School Admin. Basically, if it’s about learning and language, I’m your person!
